Israeli pilots could fly high on anti-impotence pill (Reuters)

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - A drug used to treat erectiledysfunction could help Israeli fighter pilots perform better athigh altitudes, the Israeli military's official magazine saidon Thursday.

A retired Israeli general, plans to present to the airforce the results of a study he conducted on Mount Kilimanjaroin Tanzania. He found that tadalafil, the active ingredient inCialis tablets, improved breathing in thin atmosphere.

"The study's findings justify the continuation of testswith drugs of this type in low oxygen environments," an unnamedair force officer told Bamahaneh, the military's weeklymagazine.
